It’s Great … except for the bad parts.

Can you spell HYPOCRITE?
I can.

This is what happens when you take a long hard look and and think to yourself...oh yeah, except for the bad parts.
Mind you I am talking pg-13 movies here but one side is all of the kids movies & church movies and the other is what is left of our movies.
So when your kids start asking if they can watch your shows and movies and the answer is always no because -you know, it have "those one parts", it really makes you stop and think two things.
#1 If they aren't good for them... why do we have them -are they good for me?
AND
#2 Who am I kidding, I have teenagers! If it is in the house, they are gonna watch it!

Been there! When the kids were born we started changing what we listened to and what we watched. But before we go see a movie we go to www.commonsensemedia.org They tell you why it's rated what it's rated and breaks it down. If it says "language" it will tell you exactly what words are said and how many times. We love it! Just a suggestion for the teenagers =)

Cyndi, I got myself into trouble with this one once, I can laugh about it now, but at the time, I had some explain'n to do. lol. When Joey was younger (4-5yrs)we would watch t.v. shows or sitcoms while he was in the other room or in bed, if he happened to come in the room we would explain that it was "an adult movie" and it wasn't for kids, he seemed content with that answer and would go back to bed or what ever he was doing. Well years later we were at a large family party and some how the conversation of how terrible things were in todays world and the term "adult films" (the kind we DON'T watch) came into the conversation and Joey found that a good oppertunity to say "Hey! my mom and dad watch those all the time, they always make me leave the room while they watch them" I was SO Embarrissed. The room went silent and all eyes were on me. The moral of the story is be carful what terms you use for things that can have a double meaning :) I love the suggestion for the web page in the last post... Thanks
